Muse sushi is a family owned and operated business, originally from Bangkok, Thailand. The family has owned restaurant in orange county for decades. We’ve had about 20 years of restaurant experience altogether with the family’s business, but the brother and sister team, Obi, Skinny and Kat wanted to venture out on their own. The family opened the first sushi restaurant, named “Muse sushi bar”, in downtown San Clemente on October 14th, 2015.
“One of the definitions of ‘Muse’ is about art and inspiration, so we picked that because our food is inspired by original Japanese sushi with an American twist and a little bit of spicy Thai fusion”. We go to the fish markets in Los Angeles every morning in order to get the best product, thus the restaurant’s specials change frequently and daily fresh. With artistic skills that enriched from an experience of more than 15 years surrounding sushi in CA. Chef Obi carefully executes the finest ingredients into an extraordinary work of art.
Chef Obi's journey through sushi began in Orange county, United State, at the age of 23 when he worked as an apprentice in the Japanese restaurant in Mission Viejo, CA under the direction of sushi master Yamamoto until became a head chef for the last 5 years. His interest in the art of sushi eventually inspired him to find his own path. Obi then decided to take on a new challenge by moving to San Clemente In 2015, partner up with his sibling to open Muse sushi bar where he takes care of every single detail from lights in a room to the food to ensure that his customers gain the absolute best dining experience. Chef Skinny had been training alongside Obi since 2009, so he brought him into the fold of Muse without question. They shared a vision of fusing idea, details and tastes from Japan and Thailand. The end result is full of flavors. There are the supreme quality cuts of fish wedded to spicy Thai elements such as mango, jalapeno, fired onion and cilantro. Their attention to detail is impeccable, and the final dish is such an inspiring.
After five years of working hard, the family are ready to take another step to open the second location in Laguna Niguel, named “Muse sushi house” on October 15th, 2020. The family will continue doing what they love, offering the most freshness and finest dish to every guests.
